FAQ

Do I need to commit to the first three months of the program?

It is highly recommended to commit to at least three months when it comes to incorporating any new training program. Do not fall for the false marketing of quick fixes - your body takes time to adapt, & consistency over time is key to working towards any fitness goal.

What platforms does Oaks Fit use for online training?

The Oaks Fit app powered by Trainerize is where you will find your workouts, message your trainer, & track your progress. For training sessions, check ins, & assessments, we use Google Meet. For scheduling we use Calendly. A Google account is not necessary but recommended for ease of scheduling & conducting sessions. Oaks Fit takes Zelle for payment on a weekly or monthly basis.

What equipment do I need to partake in the Oaks Fit Program?

The Oaks Fit Program is designed to make use of whatever equipment you have & can be adapted as you add new equipment. To start, it's best to have at least a set (2) of 5 lbs dumbbells, a set of 10 lbs dumbbells, resistance bands, a yoga ball, yoga mat, foam roller, and a door anchor for the bands. Things we may use around your home include kitchen counters, doors, stairs, walls, step stools, & other sturdy furniture depending on what you have. It is also recommended to use a laptop with a camera for sessions with your trainer, and a smartphone for using the Trainerize app. As you progress you will likely need heavier dumbbells, but as a client you will quickly discover that Oaks Fit always finds a way to challenge you with what you’ve got!

Do I need any resistance training experience to partake in the program?

It is not necessary at all. This program is great for beginners because it introduces you to the basics of traditional resistance training & helps you build a resilient foundation to prepare for more advanced lifting if you choose. The Oaks Fit Program can absolutely be useful for those with some and even quite a bit of lifting experience because it is tailored to each client’s experience level, areas in need of improvement, equipment, and goals. This program will definitely challenge any client with consideration to that client’s current fitness level!

Do I need lots of space or a home gym in order to participate in the program?

Not at all. You only need space for a yoga mat and a door from which to anchor your bands. You will need to find space to store your equipment safely while not in use.

I prefer working out in a gym. Can I still work with Oaks Fit?

Oaks Fit can absolutely help you show up strong in the gym. If you want to transition to the gym after three to six months of training at home with the Oaks Fit Program, your trainer can still program for you, conduct check ins, and track progress. If you already go to a gym, Oaks Fit offers gym programming if needed. Depending on the location you wish to workout at, your trainer may not be allowed to engage in online one on one training sessions at that location. In this case you can opt for a hybrid program combining one on one training at home & independent workouts in a gym.

Does Oaks Fit offer in-home one on one training?

Your trainer may be able to offer you in-home training depending on your location. Oaks Fit is based out of the San Francisco Bay Area in San Mateo County & offers in-home training sessions for those on the peninsula, including Pacifica, Half Moon Bay, Daly City, Burlingame, San Bruno, South SF, & SF.
